Context:
Operational in Indonesia for more than 40 years, IOM Indonesia is one of the largest IOM missions in the world working on a wide range of activities in partnership with the Government of Indonesia, civil society, private sector actors, migrants and communities. IOM Indonesia is engaged in several thematic areas, including: Counter-Trafficking/Labour Mobility and Human Development (CT/LMHD), Disasters, Climate and Resilience (DCR), Immigration and Border Management (IBM), Migrant Assistance, Migration Health, and Resettlement and Voluntary Returns.
The Counter-Trafficking/Labour Mobility and Human Development (CT/LMHD) Programme works alongside and contributes to the strengthened capacities of government partners at the national and sub-national level, civil society organizations, international organizations, and the private sector to enhance measures to combat human trafficking. Under the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer (NPO) and under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the incumbent will provide technical and administrative support for the implementation of IOM Indonesia’s Counter-Trafficking/Labour Mobility and Human Development on-going project titled “Advancing Measures to Adjudicate Trafficking in Persons and Protect Victims of Trafficking (AMPUH)” funded by U.S Department of State: Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (J/TIP). The project aims to assist the Government of Indonesia in combating Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and providing protection for victims by focusing in four target areas namely Sukabumi (West Java), Timor Tengah Utara and Manggarai (East Nusa Tenggara).
The project attempts to address the issue, assist the Government of Indonesia (GOI), and yield three outcomes: 1) GOI has the capacity to effectively adjudicate TIP cases in line with the TIP Law No. 21 of 2007; 2) Government and Civil Society Organizations proactively identify and protect victims of trafficking through enhanced referral mechanism; 3) Trafficking survivors are economically self-sufficient, socially stable within their communities, and are psychosocially- equipped.
