Education
- University Degree in psychology, social science, or degree in psychiatric nursing and registered to practice in clinical psychology discipline in Indonesia with at least three years of relevant working experience; or
- Completed high school diploma with at five years of relevant working experience.
Experience
- Indonesian National with good knowledge of, and experience in project implementation and project administration.
- Has clinical work experience and experience working in community based programmes or camp settings.
- Knowledge of social work value and ethics, theory and established practices of clinical social work, including assessment, treatment and crisis intervention skills
- Understanding of the social determinants of health, and the social consequences of lack thereof; family systems and family dynamics
- Understanding of diversity as it affects different populations and service delivery, including, but not limited to, gender, sexual identity, culture, ethnic, spirituality and racial issues
- understanding classification of psychiatric illnesses and. the main classifications of psychotropic medications, including their general use, expected response, and common side effects would be an advantage
- Effectively applies knowledge of psychosocial issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work
- Proven ability and experience in liaising with UN, Government Departments/Authorities and other international organizations;
- Ability to operate software packages required for effective information management, including word processing, and ability to use the internet to find resources and access evidence-based practice research.
- Proficient in computer applications.
Languages

Position Title : Programme Assistant II (MHPSS)

Type of Appointment : Special Short-Term contract up to 30 June 2021 with possibility of extension (the whole period of initial contract shall be considered as probation period).

Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Assistant III (MHPSS) and under overall supervision of the HoSO/Programme Coordinator for Western Region, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting and implementing all MHPSS activities in their respective regions of assignment.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Conducting the provision of care, services and protection for Irregular Migrants under IOM care in his/her area of responsibility and in strict compliance of the agreed IOM Operational Guidelines.
Implementing tailored psychosocial program activities for the irregular migrants (IMs) taking into consideration social, religious and educational/vocational aspects and fully respecting the confidentiality on Migrant’s information.
Conducting regular visit to detention centre and appointed accommodations to monitor Irregular Migrants activities in order to verify if care, services and protection are provided to Irregular Migrants (IMs) in a timely and efficient manner.
Promote Migrants community empowerment through community management, voluntary activity, events, capacity building, awareness raising and other possible activities and document the community profile.
Conducting basic counselling services and other psychosocial activities, including referral system.
Conducting psychosocial and protection needs assessment, including data collection through quantitative and qualitative methods, in order to identify problems/gaps, risk and vulnerabilities, particularly those related to gender and age. Further, proposing/prioritising initiatives to reduce these risks and increase the resilience capacity within the IMs communities in detention and community settings
Organizing case management of migrants with additional vulnerability that include; case identification and documentation. Further, case management should cover up a complete profiling of migrants who undergo psychological/mental health assessment, consultation, treatment and referral.
Conducting and developing report on proper monitoring and evaluation activities in regular basis by utilizing means of verifications stated in project proposal.
Mapping suitable service providers, NGOs, goverment organization or other third parties for delivering particular psycho-social program.
Participate in the development of term of reference (ToR) for psycho-social activities to be applied within Regional field offices.
Maintaining good communication with local authorities in carry out ad hoc support of the Irregular Migrants activities including conduct regular socialization in the accommodation of responsibility.
Coordinating with IOM operation, medical and other divisions within IOM Medan Regional for provision of service within agreed standard.
In coordination with Finance Unit, monitor the operational expenses based on IOM regulations
Supports formulation and implementation of regional Project Action Plan focusing on achievement of the result of collection, analysis and presentation of information for identification of areas for support and project formulation/ implementation.
Providing support to Manager in accordance to the duties of government and non-government liaison, tracking cases of migrants needing special care, data collection (quantitative and qualitative) and reporting.
Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the regional sub-office focusing on achievement of the participation in the trainings for the operations/projects staff on project and contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
